5 p.m. in the Great Hall
Westminster is excited to announce the creation of Connections, an inclusive community that will meet once monthly in the Great Hall to worship and share a meal with a focus on connecting to God, one another, and the mission of love and justice in the world.
This mission will be explored through the words of guest speakers, prayers, scripture readings, and a discussion of the messages we hear as a community. “We feel in this season of our country, it is important to affirm that the heart of the gospel is Christ’s commitment to love and justice for all people,” said the Rev. Chris Murphy, Associate Pastor for Youth and Young Adults.
Not only will Connections focus on love and justice, it is designed to be an intergenerational gathering with a youth-friendly format. Participants can expect a relaxed, informal atmosphere where casual clothing is welcomed. Young people will take an active role in leading the worship, such as serving as singers, musicians, scripture readers, prayer leaders, etc. There will be a child-friendly place for children during the worship service.
