Noon in the Great Hall
Join us in celebrating the return of autumn and the sweet fun of Halloween with Westminster’s Fall Festival, held Sunday, October 29, from 12 to 1:30 p.m. in the Great Hall. Everyone is invited for a pizza and salad lunch, as well as fun activities for all ages. Westminster’s high-school-aged youth will be hosting a haunted house, and we’ll play games including bingo, beanbag toss, balloon darts, fishing for apples, golf, and a ring-toss over pumpkins. We’ll also have cookie-decorating and face-painting stations.
Sponsored by the youth and children’s programs of Westminster, our Fall Festival is a fundraiser for our 2018 youth mission trip. Lunch and activity tickets will be sold at the door. The cost is $3 for lunch and 50 cents per activity, including the haunted house.
Our spine-chilling haunted house will offer separate tours tailored to each of three age groups. At 12:30 p.m., middle school kids (grades 6 to 8) will enjoy the first run. At 12:45 p.m., our littlest ones (grade 2 and younger) will get to take a turn. Finally, at 1 p.m., the upper-elementary group (grades 3 to 5) will have their chance. Kids are invited to meet in the Gallery when it’s time for their group to leave. They will be guided by our high-school team to the spooky lower level of the church, where frights await!
Adults and kids alike are invited to get in the holiday spirit. “Put your Halloween costume on a trial run on Sunday the 29th,” encourages Director of Children’s Ministry Melissa Olmsted. We invite everyone to wear festive outfits to church (or just put them on for the event, if you prefer) and to bring friends to this fun event. We hope to see you there, to enjoy the season and show your financial support for our youth mission trip. Thank you!
