ACTIVITES IN CHILDREN'S MINISTRY
Ecumenical Vacation Bible School:  June 28 – July 1, 2010 held this year at Augustana Lutheran Church 9am  – Noon. For children age 4 (by September 1) and entering Kindergarten through sixth grade. $20 per child; $40 per family. Brochures available through the church office. Pre-registration required by June 7.

Worship for Life: An optional program for 1st - 5th graders on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month during the 10:30am worship hour.

Angel Choir:   For kids in the 1st - 5th Grade.  The choir meets Monday nights from 6:30 -7:30 during the school year and sings in worship once a month. Si Barron, Director

4th / 5th Grade Fellowship: A monthly gathering during the school year that includes fellowship and service projects. Begins October 4, 2009 with acolyte training at 12 noon with lunch. The rest of calendar will be handed out that day.

Acolytes:  4th / 5th grade age children who can participate in worship by lighting the candles on the chancel table during worship. Training required.

Liturgist:  On the 3rd Sunday of the month children can participate in worship by reading the call to worship or lectionary scriptures for the Sunday.

1st Grade Bible class: A class for 1st graders and their families in the Fall as children begin to participate in worship. Class is on September 20, 2009 from 12 – 1 with lunch provided. The children receive their own bible and worship bags in worship.

3rd Grade Bible class: A class in the Spring for 3rd graders and their families about the basics of navigating the bible.  Class is on May 2, 2010. Children receive a bible during worship in May 9, 2010.

4th Grade Baptism class: A class for 4th graders and their family that includes an opportunity for 4th graders to help in worship preparations for upcoming baptisms.

5th Grade Communion class: A class in the fall for 5th graders and their families that includes an opportunity for 5th graders to help serve communion on World Communion Sunday. 

Advent-ure: An intergenerational gathering the first Wednesday of Advent to prepare us for the Christmas Season. Dinner, Drama, and activities.  

Maundy Thursday:  An intergenerational dinner and worship gathering the Thursday before Easter,  beginning with dinner at 6:15.

Harvest Game Night:  An intergenerational festival gathering with food, games, and some scary fun. Held in the Fall.

Mardi Gras: An intergenerational gathering in February or March.

All Church Retreat: A weekend for the whole church family in August. (2010: August, 21-23.)

Ash Wednesday:  A worship service to celebrate the beginning of Lent.
