Adult Involvement
"As youth and adults, we respond to God's call through the Holy Spirit to be connected to each other, the church, and the world so that our lives proclaim with joy that Jesus Christ is Lord!" Thus declares the mission statement of the Youth Connection of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)
At Westminster, partnership in youth ministry between young people and adults is key to all activities within the Youth Program. Sunday morning education Hour leaders, youth group advisors, parent helpers, drivers, chaperones, staffing the food table at the Mardi Gras Spaghetti Feed, helping first-timers strap on their boots at Mt. Bachelor during the Youth Ski Trip, serving as Confirmation Class mentors, and being a tour guide during the Haunted House at Harvest Game Night are just a few of the roles assumed by adults throughout the year in the Youth Program at Westminster.
Members of the Youth Committee, which meets the first Tuesday of each month 7 - 9 p.m. at the church, coordinate and support the ongoing needs of the Youth Program. Every adult involved in Westminster's Youth Program enters a covenant agreement with the Youth Committee to uphold the safety and well-being of the young people in our care. For more information, please contact Director of Youth Ministry Lisa Stine at 503-287-1289, ext. 16, or email Lisa Stine.
