This Is My Westminster
"One hundred years ago Westminster pledged to build a house of worship in NE Portland...
In 1914 the "big stone church" at 16th and NE Hancock opened its arms and welcomed the neighborhood, the city and the world through its oak doors. In the years that followed saints have lived out stories of service and sacrifice.
It is now our time to continue the Westminster story and prepare for a growing congregation! As those who came before us gave this gift, we now have an opportunity to leave our legacy for the generations to come."
Master Building Plan
As a part of Westminster's strategc planning process a Master Plan was approved for Westminster's building development. The Plan consists of three phases. The goals in Phase I are:
Universal Access/ADA Accessibility
- Lobby & elevator
- Hallway connecting the sanctuary & education wing at lower level
- Additional accessible rest rooms
- Increased building security & safety
Improved security and safety
Clear signage and direct routes to worship and meeting spaces
Energy savings and conservation
Improved lighting, mechanical and electrical systems
Potential spaces to increase fellowship opportunities
