*Invitation to Worship Rev. Gregg Neel
God calls us here together.
We bring our questions, our longings, our hopes, our dreams,
and our fears.
Jesus invites us to see the work of God’s in-breaking kin-dom and invites us to claim it at as home.
Within these walls, across our towns, and around the globe, God is present and calling –
God, who loves us; the Holy Spirit, who moves through generations; and Jesus Christ, who fulfilled God’s hopes for the world and for us.
Let us worship together.
*Hymn #321 “The Church’s One Foundation” aurelia
The church’s one foundation
is Jesus Christ her Lord.
She is his new creation
by water and the word.
From heaven he came and sought her
to be his holy bride.
With his own blood he bought her,
and for her life he died.
Elect from every nation,
yet one o’er all the earth,
her charter of salvation:
one Lord, one faith, one birth.
One holy name she blesses,
partakes one holy food,
and to one hope she presses,
with every grace endued.
Though with a scornful wonder
this world sees her oppressed,
by schisms rent asunder,
by heresies distressed,
yet saints their watch are keeping;
their cry goes up: “How long?”
And soon the night of weeping
shall be the morn of song.
Mid toil and tribulation,
and tumult of her war,
she waits the consummation
of peace forevermore:
till with the vision glorious
her longing eyes are blest,
and the great church victorious
shall be the church at rest.
Yet she on earth has union
with God, the Three in One,
and mystic sweet communion
with those whose rest is won:
O happy ones and holy!
Lord, give us grace that we,
like them, the meek and lowly,
may live eternally.
*Invitation to Confession Rev. Gregg Neel
Jesus came to redeem and reconcile, to take away the sin of the world. We are invited to tell the truth about the places in need of healing and wholeness. To tell the truth about what we need, and the world’s needs. In order to heal, we must first understand the wounds. Let us engage in the process of healing ourselves and the world, first in silent prayer
*Silent Prayer
*Unison Prayer of Confession
Saving God, we confess that we are not good with patience. We prefer to sing our own songs, and want to go our own way. We put trust in our idols –
institutions and individualism – instead of trusting you. We long for joy and delight, rest and thriving, but build walls instead, afraid of what joy and delight might cost. It is easier to bring offering and sacrifices than it is to offer our full selves to You. We stay silent about when and where we experience Your love and presence, more worried about the world rejecting us, than us rejecting you. Embolden us to pursue love.
*Assurance of Forgiveness
Friends, know that Jesus Christ came to redeem the world, and did. Look for and trust in Christ’s steadfast love – it rescues people from oppression, it redeems and reclaims institutions, and it reveals who we have been called to be.
Thanks be to God.
*The Passing of the Peace
The peace of Christ be with you all.
And also with you.

*Hymn #626 “As the Deer” as the deer
As the deer pants for the water, so my soul longs after you.
You alone are my heart’s desire, and I long to worship you.
You alone are my strength, my shield; to you alone may my spirit yield.
You alone are my heart’s desire, and I long to worship you.
Sharing Joys & Concerns Rev. Lindsey Hubbard-Groves
(At the conclusion of spoken joys, let us pray together, “Thanks be to you, O God.”
For concerns, let us make them our own by praying, “Lord, hear our prayer.”)
Pastoral Prayer and The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors;
and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.

For He shall give His angels charge over thee:

Lest thou dash thy foot against a stone, they shall uphold thee.
They shall protect thee.
