Thanksgiving Food Drive – Donations Needed

As the Thanksgiving holiday approaches, we are once again having our annual Thanksgiving food drive. We’re collecting nonperishable food for the people served by the Northeast Emergency Food Program (NEFP) and Mainspring Portland. To donate, drop off nonperishable foods (no glass packaging, please) to our 16th Avenue entrance. A food collection area is right inside the door. Your door code will work, or you can come between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. weekdays and use the buzzer to ask the office to let you in. You may also bring your donations to church on Sunday, November 21, before 10 a.m. After worship, our volunteers will make sure your donation gets to Mainspring or NEFP in time for the Thanksgiving holiday.

If you’re going shopping, NEFP would especially appreciate cake and/or brownie mixes and spices for Thanksgiving cooking. Meanwhile, Mainspring’s wishes include canned green beans, canned mushroom soup, canned French-fried onions, gravy packets, bags of tangerines, bag of potatoes, and macaroni & cheese boxes. Cookies, pies, and rolls are welcome if their expiration date is past Nov. 15. If you can’t make it to church, you can make a financial donation online to either organization at https://emoregon.org/nefp/give/ or http://www.mainspringpdx.org/donate. Thank you for giving!
