On Friday, February 14, the Westminster Cloisters program invites you to a champagne gala to kick off its eighth biennial Creative Spirit Show of Fine Art & Craft. The Valentine’s Day-themed gala, which begins at 7 p.m. in the Great Hall, celebrates the creative arts. Guests can view artwork, enjoy catered small bites and desserts, listen to the music of Don and Mark Play Jazz, drink champagne, mingle with friends, and meet the featured artists. A silent auction will offer guests the opportunity to bid on vacation experiences, fine dining, concerts, artwork, and more, with proceeds benefiting our Cloisters creative-arts program. This event is free.
If you are unable to attend the gala, you can view the art show between February 15 and 23. Our Great Hall will display oil paintings, acrylics, photography, woodworking, quilts, ceramics, paper collage, and even a video exhibit. Concurrently, our Gallery will show “Transcendence,” painted works by inmates at the Oregon State Penitentiary. Between the 15th and 23rd, the art show is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. except on Sundays. Sunday hours will be 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on February 16 and 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on February 23. There is no cost to view the show.
