CROP Hunger Walks

2025 CROP Hunger Walk – Two Opportunities!

Sunday, April 27th, is this year’s nationwide CROP Hunger Walk! This is a fun intergenerational event that brings together many different faith groups in a shared desire to end hunger globally and locally. The Westminster community has had people participating each year.

This year, there will be TWO opportunities to participate that day. Youth ministry will be lead an informal WPC walk toward the murals on Alberta Street beginning at 8:30 a.m. in Westminster’s parking lot. We will be back in time for 10:30 a.m. worship, when the “Dancing Our Prayers” team from Mending Wings will be leading us in worship! Contact Junha Kim (jkim@westprespdx.org) if you want to join this walk.

In addition, the wider Portland community, including our community, will meet at 1:30 p.m. at First Christian Church downtown (1314 SW Park Ave., Portland) and, at 2 p.m., we’ll walk two easy miles along the waterfront. This event will raise awareness about world hunger and the needs in our own local community. 75% of the funds will go to Church World Service and 25% will go to the Northeast Emergency Food Program. If you are interested in joining us on the downtown walk or in donating to the Portland walk, please go to Westminster’s walk page: https://events.crophungerwalk.org/crophungerwalks/team/westminster-presbyterian-church-portland Contact Beth Outterson or the church office if you have questions.
