Dancing Our Prayers

You’re invited to a special worship service on Sunday, April 27. During 10:30 a.m. sanctuary worship that morning, Westminster will welcome the Dancing Our Prayers (DOP) group. DOP is a program of Mending Wings, a nonprofit organization that also manages the S.L.A.M. Trips program. (These service and learning trips introduce youth to Native American culture; Westminster youth previously participated in this program.) The DOP group is made up of Native students who become culture-bearers, learning how to dance, drum, and share testimony with others, taking pride in Native culture and sharing the great things that God is doing through them. Dewy Bill, the DOP director for Mending Wings, hopes that congregants will walk away having learned something new as they witness a different culture’s way of worship to the Creator—leaving with good feelings and in better relationship with our Native brothers and sisters. Please join us.
