Thursday, August 3: “The Color of Love: Jacey’s Story”
On Thursday, August 3, at 6:30 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room, the film will be “The Color of Love: Jacey’s Story.” Starring Louis Gossett Jr. and Gena Rowlands, this film tells the story a young biracial girl, Jacey (played by Penny Bae Bridges). After the girl’s parents die, she goes to live with her white maternal grandmother—but Jacey’s African-American paternal grandfather also seeks custody of Jacey. In the process, all three confront racial stereotypes as they adapt to their new lives with each other. (Running time: 2 hours)
