Lenten Book Study: This Here Flesh

On consecutive Wednesday evenings, beginning March 1 through March 22, at 7 p.m., Beth Neel will lead an in-person discussion of the book This Here Flesh: Spirituality, Liberation, and the Stories That Make Us by Cole Arthur Riley. The book explores questions of life and faith, delving into issues such as love of self, peace, humanity, and healing. The publisher’s page says, “At once a compelling spiritual meditation, a powerful intergenerational account, and a tender coming-of-age narrative, This Here Flesh speaks potently to anyone who suspects that our stories might have something to say to us.” In order to ensure we have enough copies of the book, registration is required by February 28, and we ask that participants plan to attend at least three of the four classes. For more information, or to sign up, please contact Beth Neel at bneel@westprespdx.org or 503-287-1289 ext. 113. Class size is limited to 10 people, so sign up with Beth soon if you wish to participate. Books are available for purchase in the office for $17.99 each.
