Socks and Sweatshirts for Operation Nightwatch

Westminster’s annual clothing drive for socks and sweatshirts returns February 5 to 26 to help Operation Nightwatch care for our unhoused neighbors. A chronic need is for socks, crucial for protecting the feet of those living on the streets. We will be collecting money for socks through online donations, and Operation Nightwatch will use the funds to purchase socks at a wholesale price. To donate, go to our website at westprespdx.org, click the “online giving” button, then under the “fund” type, click the dropdown arrow to see fund choices. Choose “Socks and Sweatshirts” to give to this drive. In addition, beginning February 5, we will be collecting sweatshirts, sweatpants, knitted hats, and gloves in a bin located at the 16th Avenue (handicapped-accessible) entrance. Clothing should be either new or clean and lightly used. Sizes large and extra large are preferred to enable layering. The bin will be marked “Operation Nightwatch collection.” Donations will be accepted during the church’s office hours, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. You can also stop by on the Sundays of the drive just before or after worship. Use the call button to be buzzed in. Thank you for giving!
