Swing for Joy!

Are you a swing dancer?  Or do you long to try the lindy hop (jitterbug), but don’t know where to start? Come “Swing for Joy” in Westminster’s Great Hall on Friday, February 28. Instructor Melissa Roane (www.danceviscount.com/instructors) will teach a beginner lesson from 7 to 7:45 p.m., and the floor will open for dancing from 8 to 10 p.m. Everyone is welcome, including members of the local community. A partner is not needed—the best dances are the ones where we ask each other to dance! There’s no charge for the lesson or the dance (though donations are accepted). February is Black History Month, and as the lindy hop was born in Harlem in the 1920s and 1930s, this Swing for Joy seems especially appropriate.
