Thanksgiving Food Drive

It’s November, time for our annual Thanksgiving food drive. From Wednesday, Nov. 1, through Sunday, Nov. 19, we will be collecting nonperishable food to benefit the Northeast Emergency Food Program (NEFP) and Mainspring Portland. Your help to feed those who are experiencing hunger or food insecurity is needed and appreciated, especially as the Thanksgiving holiday approaches. Please donate foods traditional for the season, for example, packaged stuffing, instant potatoes, cornbread mix, canned vegetables, gravy packets, canned cranberry sauce, French-fried onions, cream of mushroom soup, canned broth, coffee, cornstarch, marshmallows, brown sugar, canned pie filling, cake mixes, etc. Other foods are welcome as well. Please remember: do not donate homemade items, perishable foods, or items in glass containers.

You may drop off donations at the church entrance at the corner of NE 16th and Schuyler during church office hours (M-Th, 9-4:30 & F, 9-12). Just push the door buzzer to be let in and drop your food in or by the cabinet just inside the door. You can also drop off donations before or after church on November Sundays (through the 19th) at that same location. Mainspring is hoping to have the food for Thanksgiving baskets by Friday, November 10, so please drop off food by then if you want that food to go to Mainspring. To donate money instead of food, go online to

NEFP or Mainspring. Thank you.
