Thanksgiving Food Drive

As you give thanks this season for what you have, please consider donating food to our Thanksgiving food drive to help our neighbors experiencing hunger and food insecurity. This year, food donations will be collected from Sunday, October 27, through Sunday, November 24, and will support the people served by the Northeast Emergency Food Program (NEFP) and Mainspring Portland. Our November Chimes newsletter shares specific ideas for what kind of foods you might like to donate, but most shelf-stable foods are welcome—both Thanksgiving-themed foods (e.g., packaged stuffing, canned vegetables, cranberry-sauce cans, etc.) as well as staples (rice, pasta, soup, canned tuna, oatmeal, etc.). Please note: We cannot take homemade items, perishable foods, expired items, or items in glass containers.

You may drop off food at the church entrance at the corner of NE 16th and Schuyler during our office hours of 9 a.m. through 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 9 a.m. to noon on Friday. Just push the door buzzer to let us know you have a donation, and we’ll let you in. The food-collection cabinet is just inside the door. You can also drop off donations before or after church on Sundays (10/27 through 11/24) at that same location. If you are unable to bring items to church for donation, you can still make a financial gift to either NEFP or Mainspring. To give, visit https://emoregon.org/give/ and select NEFP using the dropdown menu or visit http://www.mainspringpdx.org/donate. Thank you!
