*Invitation to Worship (Matthew 21:1-11) The Rev. Gregg Neel
Rev. Gregg: When they had come near Jerusalem and had reached Bethphage,
at the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two disciples, saying to them,
Pulpit Side: “Go into the village ahead of you, and immediately
you will find a donkey tied, and a colt with her; untie
them and bring them to me. If anyone says anything
to you, just say this, ‘The Lord needs them.’ And he
will send them immediately.”
Lectern Side: This took place to fulfill what had been spoken
through the prophet, saying,
All: “Tell the daughter of Zion, Look, your king is coming
to you, humble, and mounted on a donkey, and
on a colt, the foal of a donkey.”
Rev. Gregg: The disciples went and did as Jesus had directed them;
they brought the donkey and the colt, and put their
cloaks on them, and he sat on them.
A very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road,
and others cut branches from the trees and spread
them on the road.
The crowds that went ahead of him and that followed
were shouting,
ALL: “Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is the one who
comes in the name of the Lord!
Hosanna in the highest heaven!”
Rev. Gregg: When he entered Jerusalem, the whole city was in
turmoil, asking, “Who is this?” The crowds were saying,
ALL: “This is the prophet Jesus from Nazareth in Galilee.”

*Invitation to Confession The Rev. Eileen Parfrey
One day, we are crying to God, “save us,” the next we are turning our backs on God and walking away. Despite our fickle nature, God is steadfast in loving us and constant in forgiving us. Let us confess to our God, as we pray, first in silence.
*Silent Prayer
*Unison Prayer of Confession
Save us, Redeeming God, save us! May we lay our doubts, our fears, our worries, our weariness at your feet, trusting and believing that you will forgive what is sinful, make whole our brokenness, and welcome us as siblings of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
*Assurance of Forgiveness
The mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting. I declare to you, in the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven.
*The Passing of the Peace
The peace of Christ be with you all.
And also with you.

The Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper
The Invitation to the Table The Rev. Eileen Parfrey
Great Prayer of Thanksgiving The Rev. Junha Kim
The Lord be with you.
And also with you.
Lift up your hearts.
We lift them to the Lord.
Let us give thanks to our God.
It is right to give our thanks and praise.
We give you thanks and praise, O God –
For the glory and joy of creation,
For the work of reconciliation,
For the promise of love eternal,
And for those who walk with us.
So we offer you the words of a song
Sung by angels and saints.
Let us sing the words of the eternal song:
Blessed are you, O God;
Blessed is your Son, Jesus, our host at this table.
Blessed is your Spirit, who settles in us and among us,
And within these gifts of bread and cup, transforming them,
Making them sacred, and filling not for our bodies but for our souls.
So with gratitude and praise we come to your table, ready to be filled, ready to be sent out, ready to be your people in the world.
And hear us now as we say the prayer Jesus taught us:
The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors;
and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.
Words of Institution
On the night before the Lord Jesus died, he took bread, and after giving thanks, he broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying: Take, eat. This is my body, given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.
In the same way he took the cup, saying: This cup is the new covenant sealed with my life, given for you for the forgiveness of sins. Whenever you drink it, do this in remembrance of me.
Receiving the Bread and the Cup
(Today, the congregation is invited to come forward to receive communion. Someone will hand you a piece of bread, which you will eat. You may then move to the next person, who will hand you a cup of juice, which you will drink. As you return to your pew, you may put your cup in the basket. For those unable to come forward, a pastor will bring you the elements.)
Communion Anthem “To Zion Jesus Came” David H. Williams
When his salvation bringing, to Zion Jesus came.
The children all stood singing Hosanna to his name;
Nor did their zeal offend Him, but as He rode along,
He let them still attend Him and smiled to hear their song.
All glory, laud, and honor to Thee, redeemer, King.
(Hosanna, loud hosanna!)
To whom the lips of children make sweet hosannas ring,
Thou art the King of Israel, Thou Daivd’s royal Son,
Who in the Lord’s name cometh, the King and blessed one.
And since the Lord retaineth His love for children still,
Though now as King He reigneth on Zion’s heavenly hill,
We’ll flock around His banner, who sits upon His throne,
And cry aloud Hosanna to David’s royal Son!
Prayer After Communion The Rev. Junha Kim
Gracious God, we give you thanks for entering our lives through this holy meal and the nourishment it provides. With this feast, we go out into your world, to heal, to help, to hope. Amen.
