Prelude “St. Anne Fugue: O God Our Help in Ages Past” J. S. Bach
Greetings and Announcements The Rev. Lindsey Hubbard-Groves
This is the day the Lord has made.
Let us rejoice and be glad in it.
An Act of Praise
*Westminster Chimes
*Invitation to Worship The Rev. Junha Kim
Gracious God, we gather because it is good to gather –
With our siblings, with our families, and with our kin.
We gather because you know our whole selves –
We yearn to be known and to know You.
We gather to grieve and lament together –
To celebrate our joys and gladness.
We gather because we believe what you offer is real –
A real invitation into new life.
Of green pastures and still waters,
Of radical courage and compassion,
Loving God, you have invited us to usher in this new reality on earth,
A new way of love for ourselves,
And a new way of love for one another.
Let us rest alongside God’s love and peace together.
*Hymn #451 “Open My Eyes, That I May See” open my eyes
Open my eyes, that I may see
glimpses of truth thou hast for me.
Place in my hands the wonderful key
that shall unclasp and set me free.
Silently now I wait for thee,
ready, my God, thy will to see.
Open my eyes; illumine me,
Spirit divine!
Open my ears, that I may hear
voices of truth thou sendest clear.
And while the wave notes fall on my ear,
everything false will disappear.
Silently now I wait for thee,
ready, my God, thy will to see.
Open my ears; illumine me,
Spirit divine!
Open my mouth, and let me bear
gladly the warm truth everywhere.
Open my heart, and let me prepare
love with thy children thus to share.
Silently now I wait for thee,
ready, my God, thy will to see.
Open my heart; illumine me,
Spirit divine!
*Invitation to Confession The Rev. Eileen Parfrey
Authentic God, you have called us to follow in the way of the risen Jesus and to care for those who we call our neighbor, our companions, our friends, and our family. You call us to care for others with both words of comfort and acts of love. Open our hearts to the kinship of Your community. We bring to you the ways we fall short in being the kind of neighbor you have called us to be, first in silent prayer.
*Silent Prayer
*Unison Prayer of Confession The Rev. Eileen Parfrey
God, your kin-dom is whole, and your earth is not. We know this is not what you created us to be. Like the faithful women who courageously shared the news of new life, fill us with the full reality of your kin-dom hope and embolden us with life-changing faith. Amen.
*Assurance of Forgiveness The Rev. Eileen Parfrey
Friends, it is absolutely incredible how good the news is: through Jesus Christ, the hope of a fully healed world was made real.
In Jesus Christ, we are freed to hope, freed to dream, and freed to be whole.
*The Passing of the Peace The Rev. Eileen Parfrey
The peace of Christ be with you all.
And also with you.

Pastoral Prayer and The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors;
and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.

*Hymn #372 “O for a World” azmon
O for a world where everyone respects each other’s ways, where love is lived and all is done with justice and with praise.
O for a world where goods are shared and misery relieved, where truth is spoken, children spared, equality achieved.
We welcome one world family and struggle with each choice that opens us to unity and gives our vision voice.
The poor are rich; the weak are strong; the foolish ones are wise. Tell all who mourn: outcasts belong, who perishes will rise.
O for a world preparing for God’s glorious reign of peace, where time and tears will be no more, and all but love will cease.
