Greetings and Announcements Rev. Gregg Neel
This is the day the Lord has made.
Let us rejoice and be glad in it.
An Act of Praise
Introit “Praise, Praise, Praise the Lord” African Gathering Song
*Westminster Chimes
*Invitation to Worship Rev. Gregg Neel
In the beginning, God called the world into being, saying,
“Let there be light!”
In the fullness of time, Jesus came from God to us, saying,
“I am the light of the world.”
In our everyday life, we see the work of the saints,
the ones in whom God’s light shines.
So let us give thanks for the saints this day,
and let us worship God.
*Hymn #263 “All Hail the Power of Jesus’ Name!” coronation
All hail the power of Jesus’ name!
Let angels prostrate fall;
bring forth the royal diadem,
and crown him Lord of all!
Bring forth the royal diadem,
and crown him Lord of all!
Ye chosen seed of Israel’s race,
ye ransomed from the fall,
hail him who saves you by his grace,
and crown him Lord of all!
Hail him who saves you by his grace,
and crown him Lord of all!
Let every kindred, every tribe
on this terrestrial ball
to him all majesty ascribe,
and crown him Lord of all!
To him all majesty ascribe,
and crown him Lord of all!
O that with yonder sacred throng
we at his feet may fall!
We’ll join the everlasting song,
and crown him Lord of all!
We’ll join the everlasting song,
and crown him Lord of all!
*Invitation to Confession Rev. Eileen Parfrey
How patient is God! We run around trying to do everything our way, and God just waits. We try to buy life and happiness, and God waits. We hurt others and walk away from those in need, and God waits. God waits, and upon hearing our heartfelt prayers and cries for help, God touches us with forgiveness and new life. Come, join me as we pray to the one who waits to hear from us, first in silence.
*Silent Prayer
*Unison Prayer of Confession
Patient God, we find it difficult to see you in our lives. Justice has a hard time surviving when there is so much persecution and hardship. Our towns, our cites, and our country are filled with strife and contention. We cry for help, Listening God; forgive us! As we wait for your grace to fill our lives, may we open our hearts to your hope and healing, always giving thanks for Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.
*Assurance of Forgiveness
Rich, poor; young, old; sinner, saint. We are all God’s children, and God transforms each of us into the people we are meant to be.
Broken, we are mended; separated from others, we are made one; longing to serve, we are sent forth. Thanks be to God, we are forgiven. Amen.
*The Passing of the Peace
The peace of Christ be with you all.
And also with you.
An Act of Proclamation
The Scripture Reading 2nd Thessalonians 1:1-4, 11-12 (NRSVUE) Rev. Gregg Neel
Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy,
To the church of the Thessalonians in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ:
Grace to you and peace from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
We must always give thanks to God for you, brothers and sisters, as is right, because your faith is growing abundantly and the love of every one of you for one another is increasing. Therefore we ourselves boast of you among the churches of God for your steadfastness and faith during all your persecutions and the afflictions that you are enduring.
To this end we always pray for you, asking that our God will make you worthy of his call and will fulfill by his power every good resolve and work of faith, so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
This is the Word of the Lord.
Thanks be to God.
Moments with Children Rev. Junha Kim
Sermon “All the Imperfect Saints” Rev. Gregg Neel
A Moment for Silent Reflection
An Act of Response
*Hymn #326 “For All The Saints” sine nomine
(We will sing verses 1-3 and 5 of the hymn. After verse 1,2, and 3, we will pause, and you are invited to name the saints in your life. You may speak the names aloud where you are, or at the microphone in the center aisle, or you may name them silently. You may also write or draw the names or images of remembered saints in the window image on the bulletin cover.)
- For all the saints who from their labors rest, Who Thee by faith before the world confessed, Thy name, O Jesus, be forever blest. Alleluia! Alleluia!
- Thou wast their Rock, their Fortress, and their Might; Thou, Lord, their Captain in the well-fought fight; Thou, in the darkness drear, their one true Light. Alleluia! Alleluia!
- O blest communion, fellowship divine! We feebly struggle, they in glory shine; Yet all are one in Thee, for all are Thine. Alleluia! Alleluia!
- From earth’s wide bounds, from ocean’s farthest coast, Through gates of pearl streams in the countless host, Singing to Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, Alleluia! Alleluia!
Sharing Joys & Concerns Rev. Eileen Parfrey
At the conclusion of spoken joys, let us pray together, “Thanks be to you, O God.”

Offertory Anthem Festival Piece on “Saint Anne” Eugene Butler; text by Isaac WattsO God our help in ages past, our hope for years to come; Our shelter from the stormy blast, and our eternal home. Before the hills in order stood (Alleluia) or earth received her frame,From everlasting Thou art God, to endless years the same.A thousand ages in Thy sight are like an evening gone,Short as the watch that ends the night, before the rising sun.Time like an ever rolling stream bears all its sons away,They fly forgotten as a dream dies at the opening day.O God our help in ages past, our hope for years to come,Be Thou our guard while life shall last and our eternal home!

The Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper
The Invitation to the Table Rev. Junha Kim
Great Prayer of Thanksgiving Rev. Gregg Neel The Lord be with you.
And also with you.
Lift up your hearts.
We lift them up unto the Lord.
Let us give thanks to our God.
It is right to give our thanks and praise.
It is right and our greatest joy to give you thanks and praise, O God. We praise you for the faithful of every age, from every race and tongue, from every people and nation, all whom you have gathered together, all who have received your gift of life.
And so in praise we join our voices with the great cloud of witnesses, those we know and don’t know. And we remember those in our community who have gone from us to you, and together name them this day: Margi Brown, Phyllis Hanson, Jill Johnson, Chlois McCarter, Marilyn Owen, Joe Robertson, Susan Roll, Marty Wahl, Tony Welty, Nancy Zavitz.
We sing the words of the eternal song:

You are holy, O God, and blessed is Jesus your Son, the light and life of the world, who freed us from sin, injustice, and death forever.
And now, in faith, we take this bread and this cup and celebrate with joy your gift of life and redemption. Pour out your Holy Spirit upon us, and upon these gifts of bread and cup, that they will become our communion with you and one another. As this bread is Christ’s body for us, send us out to be the body of Christ in the world. And hear us as we are bold to say together the prayer that Jesus taught:
The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors;
and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.
Words of Institution
On the night before the Lord Jesus died, he took bread, and after giving thanks, he broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying: Take, eat. This is my body, given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.
In the same way he took the cup, saying: This cup is the new covenant sealed with my life, given for you for the forgiveness of sins. Whenever you drink it, do this in remembrance of me.
Receiving the Bread and the Cup
(Today, the congregation is invited to come forward to receive communion. You will be handed a piece of bread, which you may eat. You will then be handed a cup of juice, which you may drink. As you return to your pew, you may put your cup in the basket. For those unable to come forward, someone will bring you the elements.)
Communion Anthem “The Road Home” Stephen Paulus
Tell me where is the road I can call my own, that I left, that I lost so long ago?
All these years I have wandered, oh when will I know
There’s a way, there’s a road that will lead me home?
After wind, after rain, when the dark is done, as I wake from a dream in the gold of day,
Through the air there’s a calling from far, far away,
There’s a voice I can hear that will lead me home.
Rise up, follow me, come away is the call, with love in your heart as the only song.
There is no such beauty as where you belong.
Rise up, follow me, I will lead you home.
Communion Anthem “Let Us Break Bread Together” African American Spiritual
Arr. Mark Hayes and Marvin Gaspard
Prayer After Communion Rev. Eileen Parfrey
O God, number us among your saints, and join us with the faithful of every age, that strengthened by their witness, we may run with perseverance the race that is set before us. Give us strength to serve you faithfully until, with the redeemed of all the ages, we will feast with you at your table in glory. Amen.
*Hymn #468 “In My Life” lord, be glorified
3rd verse a cappella
In my life, Lord, be glorified; be glorified.
In my life, Lord, be glorified today.
In our song, Lord, be glorified; be glorified.
In our song, Lord, be glorified today.
In your church, Lord, be glorified; be glorified.
In your church, Lord, be glorified today.
In your world, Lord, be glorified; be glorified.
In your world, Lord, be glorified today.
*Benediction
