Sunday morning activities and worship are at the heart of Westminster. Those first to arrive usually find a space in our parking lot (on Hancock Street between 16th and 17th). On-street parking is also available but often more difficult to find. Our handicapped accessible entrance is located at the south end of the building on 16th Avenue.

9:00 a.m. Chapel Worship
Each summer, Westminster offers an additional worship service at 9 a.m. The service, held in the chapel and lasting about 45 minutes, is more casual and conversational than our 10:30 a.m. sanctuary service. It includes songs, prayers, and a scripture reading—but instead of a sermon, the pastors and congregants engage in conversation for 15 to 20 minutes to explore the Bible passage more deeply. Westminster welcomes usually 15 to 40 people in the small chapel space, and the cozy, informal setting and format encourage a sense of community. In the hot summer months, it’s also a cooler, shorter, start-the-day-early alternative.
10:30 a.m. Sanctuary Worship
Worship in our beautiful sanctuary begins at 10:30 and lasts for about an hour, or sometimes a little more. We worship in a more traditional style; our pastors wear robes, and we sing out of the hymnal. The theme of the service is based on the scripture reading of the day, and the music, sermon and liturgy all tie in to that theme. Worshippers are invited to write down prayer requests as they enter the sanctuary; these prayers are shared in the latter part of the service.
