Prelude                                                                                                      Teresa Wilhelmi

Greetings and Announcements                                                           Rev. Gregg Neel

This is the day the Lord has made.

Let us rejoice and be glad in it.

An Act of Praise

*Westminster Chimes

*Invitation to Worship                                                                           Rev. Gregg Neel

When I think of God’s presence in the world, I am grateful:

Grateful for the presence of hope; grateful for the gift of life.

And when I think of God’s presence in my life, I am humbled:

      Humbled by the gift of grace; humbled by the invitation to begin again.

And when I think of God’s presence in this community, I am glad:

Glad to be surrounded by holy people worshipping our Holy God.

Thank you all; thank you, God.

*Hymn #35                          “Praise Ye the Lord, the Almighty”                   lobe den herren

Praise to the Lord, the Almighty, the King of creation!
O my soul, praise him, for he is your health and salvation!
Come, all who hear; now to his temple draw near,
join me in glad adoration.

Praise to the Lord, above all things so wondrously reigning;
sheltering you under his wings, and so gently sustaining!
Have you not seen all that is needful has been
sent by his gracious ordaining?

Praise to the Lord, who will prosper your work and defend you;
surely his goodness and mercy shall daily attend you.
Ponder anew what the Almighty can do,
if with his love he befriends you.

Praise to the Lord! O let all that is in me adore him!
All that has life and breath, come now with praises before him.
Let the Amen sound from his people again;
gladly forever adore him.

*Invitation to Confession                                                                       Rev. Junha Kim

When we would keep our faults and failings in the shadows, you call us to bring them into the light of your grace and forgiveness. With such a promise, with such a hope, how can we not confess to the One who loves us so much? Let us share our thoughts with the One who brings forgiveness, first in silence.

*Silent Prayer

*Unison Prayer of Confession                                                             Rev. Junha Kim

It is never easy to confess our lives to you, Listener to our words. When we have a chance to speak up for the outsider, we too often join in sending them away into hopelessness. When we could shout good news to a needy world, our voices drop to a whisper. When we could abound in grace, we continue to wallow in wrongdoing.

Forgive us, Hearer of our hearts, and have mercy on us. You show us your signs of hope, that we might point others to you. You help us when we are weakest and, in Jesus Christ, you save us when we cannot save ourselves. Amen.

*Assurance of Forgiveness

Do not be afraid. God cherishes us, God treasures you. You are graced, you are forgiven, you are healed.

We will not keep this good news to ourselves. We will shout our hope from the rooftops of our hearts. Thanks be to God, we are forgiven! Amen.

*The Passing of the Peace

The peace of Christ be with you all.

            And also with you.

An Act of Proclamation

Six Days of Creation and the Sabbath

1 In the beginning when God created[a] the heavens and the earth, 2 the earth was a formless void and darkness covered the face of the deep, while a wind from God[b] swept over the face of the waters. 3 Then God said, ‘Let there be light’; and there was light. 4 And God saw that the light was good; and God separated the light from the darkness.

Sharing Joys & Concerns                                                                      Rev. Junha Kim

(At the conclusion of spoken joys, let us pray together, “Thanks be to you, O God.”

For concerns, let us make them our own by praying, “Lord, hear our prayer.”)

Pastoral Prayer and The Lord’s Prayer

      Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.

      Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

      Give us this day our daily bread;

      and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors;

      and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

      For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.

*Hymn #23                       “God, You Spin the Whirling Planets”                  pleading savior

God, You spin the whirling planets,

Fill the sea and spread the plain,

Mold the mountains, fashion blossoms,

Call forth sunshine, wind, and rain.

We, created in Your image,

Would a true reflection be

Of Your justice, grace, and mercy

And the truth that makes us free.

You have called us to be faithful

In our life and ministry.

We respond in grateful worship

Joined in one community.

When we blur Your gracious image,

Focus us and make us whole.

Healed and strengthened as Your people,

We move onward toward Your goal.

God, Your word is still creating,

Calling us to life made new.

Now reveal to us fresh vistas

Where there’s work to dare and do.

Keep us clear of all distortion.

Polish us with loving care.

Thus, new creatures in Your image,

We’ll proclaim Christ everywhere.
