What is stewardship?

Stewardship is more than just giving money to the church. It involves gifts of time, talent, and treasure. Stewardship is your commitment to be part of the church community and sustain it in doing God’s work. It is about stewarding and sharing the resources we have been given.

Why should I become a Westminster Sustainer or make a non-binding pledge?

You can make a gift at any time, of course. Becoming a Westminster Sustainer or making a non-binding pledge allows the church to plan for the coming year and create a budget that stays within our resources, based on anticipated donations. More than 80% of Westminster’s budget comes from sustaining gifts and non-binding pledges.

What are stewardship gifts used for?

Stewardship gifts are used for mission and service, education and discipleship, and worship and music. They also allow adequate compensation for the pastors and lay staff and keep the building clean, lighted, and heated.

How can I participate?

You can become a Westminster Sustainer by setting up an automated, recurring gift through the church website here (RECURRING PAGE link) or make a non-binding annual pledge either online here or with a traditional paper pledge card. You can also offer your time and talent by serving as a committee member, office volunteer, adult education presenter, choir member, Stephen Minister, or in one of many other ways that sustain Westminster in serving our community and each other.
